A Hannay SSN600 series hose reel has been installed as part of the diving bell handling system to control a ram on the scissor latch assembly fitted to the diving bell cursor. When the bell goes through the moonpool (especially the splash zone) it is protected in a cursor frame. The scissor latch holds the bell in this cursor. When the cursor reaches the bottom of the hull, the ram is activated, the scissor opens and the bell is free to be launched to the required depth. The Hannay SSN600 hose reel keeps the supply and return hoses in tension so that they do not get caught up on any of the other equipment. |
