ROV fueling on 'MV Resolution'

Based in Middlesbrough on the East Coast of the UK, Marine Projects International Limited (MPI) is a leader and a technological innovator in offshore wind installation and offshore construction. MPI operate the world’s first purpose-built vessel for installing offshore wind turbines, foundations and transition pieces, the MV Resolution is a unique combination of proven technologies applied in innovative ways to provide a single-vessel installation solution for the offshore wind sector.

Resolution has the self-contained capability to handle an entire project, including installation of monopile and transition pieces, array cabling, topside installation, transformer installation, met mast installation and transportation – in addition to supplying ancillary support services. The name ‘Resolution’ honours the memory of Captain James Cook, a world-renowned explorer and an innovative navigator. Cook sailed on his world voyages from the port of Whitby, which lies a few miles south of Middlesbrough. He was Master of the Resolution on his second expedition in search of the ‘Southern Land’, South of the Cape towards the South Pole.

To provide reliable service in a harsh marine environment Resolution has just installed a Hannay SS3000 series manual rewind reel to be used for fueling the generator for Resolution's cable laying ROV unit which will be used on MPI's latest project which consists of installing 53 wind turbines off the UK East coast.
