'REEL' Work Experience
These opportunities can also give ideas to the student for what they wish to do when they leave school and give them experience for when they become employees.
During the two weeks at Bridge Engineering I have helped with stock taking, and helped assemble and test a reel. I've also learnt how to pick items in a warehouse, pack and bind those items for despatch. I have also helped to make hose assemblies and install them onto the reel.
I also had the chance to visit some of Bridge Engineering's customers where we saw helicopter fuel units being built for the metropolitan police to use during the 2012 London Olympics. We also saw Road Tankers being built for carrying fuel oil and others for carrying cryogenic gases.
